Via masala bonds HDFC to raise up to Rs. 500 Crores

HDFC a Mortgage lender said on Oct'13, to raise up to Rs.500 Crores via rupee-denominated bonds/masala bonds from overseas investors as granted by board of directors.Rupee-denominated bonds or masala bonds are instruments & via it, Indian entities can raise fonds by accessing overseas capital market,while bond investors hold currency risk. HDFC is 1st Indian firm to issue masala bonds & these are subscrbed 3 times so far.
