What are unknown & interesting facts about Indian currency notes, which most us are not aware of?
In the prefix, only 20 alphabets are used, instead of all 26. Alphabets 'I' , 'J', & 'O' are not used in the prefix as they might be confused with the numerals 0 or 1. Notice the serial number in above image of 500 rupee note: '635011'. Note the last two digits, the ones. It can easily be confused with either I or J. 'O' & zeroes are always confused with each other. That's why we do not use 'I', 'O' or 'J' in the prefix as alphabets.
