The goods and service act has replaced all other indirect tax act. So now, gst will be levied at all stages right from manufacture up to final consumption.

However, followings items are kept outside the preview of GST.
1. Alcohol for human consumption has been kept outside the preview
of gst.

2. Distribution and transmission of electricity.

3. petroleum products viz. petroleum crude, motor spirit (petrol), high
speed diesel, natural gas and aviation turbine fuel have been kept
out.
