There are different types of allowances given by the employer and these are taxable as per the income tax act. Some of them are exempt from tax which are as follows.
1. Allowance to High Court Judes
2. Allowance paid by United Nations
3. Compensatory allowance received by judges
4. Allowance to government employees outside India
5. Sumptuary allowance given to high court or supreme court judges
