The amount of brokerage, service tax stamp duty, transaction charges all are the cost incurred to sell the shares and therefore deductible from the selling price.
However, as per the income tax act, STT paid on the sale of shares shall not be deducted while calculating the income from capital gain.
Thus, STT paid on the sale of short capital assets shall not be deducted from the sale price this means no deduction is allowed for the STT payment.
