No it is not right.
SWOT analysis examines both the environments - internal and external.
Rather the whole purpose of SWOT analysis would be defeated if it doesn't examine both the environments.
SWOT presents - external opportunities and threats and internal strength and weaknesses - in a structured format.
This helps the strategic decision makers in matching the strengths, weaknesses of an organisation with opportunities and threats. And then come out with suitable strategies.
