Don't panic. Take these 4 easy to do steps.
If your vehicle breaks down and your e-way bill expires, you can extend the validity of the e-way bill.
Here’s what you need to do:
1-> Log in to the E-Way Bill Portal: Access the portal where you initially generated the e-way bill.
2 -> Select the ‘Extend Validity’ Option: Look for the option to extend the validity of the e-way bill. This option is available both before and after the expiry of the bill.
3 -> Update Details: Enter the e-way bill number, the reason for the extension (e.g., vehicle breakdown), the current location (with the new vehicle number and pincode), and the approximate distance remaining.
4 -> Submit the Request: Once you submit the request, the validity of the e-way bill will be extended based on the remaining distance to travel1.
This process ensures that your goods can continue to be transported legally without incurring penalties. If you encounter any issues, you can also contact the GST helpdesk for further assistance.
