On January 2019 Ministry of Corporate Affairs issued a circular mandating all the companies to file a return of deposits or particulars of Transactions not considered as Deposit in form DPT-3. Recently, on 12 April 2019, MCA issued the second circular extending the due date by 90 days from 31st March 2019. So companies now can file their annual deposit return up to 29th June 2019 without paying a late fee.

Who needs to file DPT-3?
Every company registered under the companies act, 2013 having loan or deposit except the governent company required to file return of deposits. You should follow return if you fall under the following category.
NOTE: Exemption from filing of DPT-3 is available only to the Government Companies.
