Understanding the EPF Claim Process: From Submission to Settlement.

Withdrawing your EPF online is now streamlined via the EPFO's Member e-Sewa portal. Ensure your UAN is activated, Aadhaar is verified, and bank details are updated. A two-month waiting period post-exit from a job is mandatory before claiming. Always keep your personal details current in the EPFO database for a hassle-free process. Read the below ripple for more breakdown.

You can submit your claim online or offline.


You can apply for PF Final settlement (Form 19), Pension Withdrawl Benefit (Form 10-C) and PF Part Withdrawl (Form 31).


You can check your PPF claim's progress online even if you submitted your claim offline.

Here's Step-by-Step Guide to File EPF Withdrawal Claim Online:

1 -> You should visit the Member e-Sewa portal on the EPFO website at this link.


2 -> You will need to log in to your account using your UAN, password, and the provided captcha code.


3 -> After logging in, you should click on 'Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C & 10D)' found under the 'Online Services' tab.


4 -> A new tab will open where you will be prompted to enter and verify the correct bank account number associated with your UAN.


5 -> After verifying your bank account details, you will need to agree to the terms and conditions set by the EPFO.


6 -> You can then click on 'Proceed For Online Claim'.


7 -> Finally, you will select the reason for your EPF withdrawal from a drop-down menu. You will see only those options for which you are eligible.


Remember, you can file online claim only if -

#1 You've activated your UAN;


#2 Your mobile number used for activation is operational.

#3 Your Aadhaar details are seeded in the EPFO database,


#4 Your bank account and IFSC number are seeded in the EPFO database.

#5 If your service duration is less than 5 years, your PAN should be in the EPFO database for PF Final Settlement Claims.


Said above, you should use the OTP-based facility for eKYC confirmation from UIDAI when submitting the claim.


If you're filing Form 19 online for PF Final settlement then


#1 Your Date of Joining and Date of Exit should be available in the EPFO Database for online filing of PF Final Settlement Claims (Form-19).


#2 You should not be working under any establishment covered by the PF Act when filing the claim.


#3 You must wait at least two months after leaving an establishment before submitting a claim.


#4 For online claim submission, you will need to authenticate using an OTP sent to your UIDAI-registered mobile number, granting consent for UIDAI to share e-KYC (Aadhaar) credentials with EPFO.
