If you are transporter registered under GST, then you need not apply for the transporter separately. However, if you are not registered under the GST, you have to apply for the transporter ID.

To register and get a transporter id, you have to visit Eway portal provide necessary documents as mentioned

Procedure to register is:

Go to Eway bill portal
Click on Enrolment for Transporters
Application for registration under section 35(2) will open
Fill the application
Submit application
The most important point the you have to know is registering for transporter id is different from registering under GST.
