I am a resident Indian Individual. I only have income from salary which is below the exemption limit.

However, I own a few equity shares of a company listed and incorporated in the UK.

My query is:

1. Do I have to file ITR for the AY 2018-19?

2. If yes, what is the last date for filing such return?

Coming straight to the point.

  1. Yes, you have to file ITR-2 return of Income with the Income tax department.
  2. The last date for filing your return would be the 31st July of the Assessment year.

For clarification:

If you want to file your returns for the financial Year 2017-18, the relevant assessment year would be 2018-19 and you need to file your returns before 31st July, 2018
