Hello,

According to this case, you should take the -

1. fair market value of AGRICULTURAL land as on 1.4.2001.
2. and then do indexation.

The tribunal has clearly held that in cases where agricultural land is converted into non-agricultural land -

1. we should take the fair market value of agricultural land to calculate Indexed cost of acquisition and
2. then find the capital gains.
