Supply Chain management is the management of all business processes and activities including procurement of raw materials, manufacturing and distribution management of Finished Goods.

Successful implementation of supply chain management requires great amount of coordination with buyers, suppliers and setting up a joint product development and common shared information system.

Supply chain management is an extension of logistic management. However, there is difference between the two. Logistical activities include management of inbound and outbound goods, transportation, warehousing, handling of material, fulfilment of orders, inventory management, supply/demand planning.

Logistic management can be termed as one of its part that is related to planning, implementing, and controlling the movement and storage of goods, services and related information between the point of origin and the point of consumption.
