What is form 16?

Form 16 is a certificate issued by the employer for the tax deducted from the salary. Form 16 has the details of tax deducted and deposited with the government. It provides you with the details of income tax paid during the year.

Form 16 has two parts:-

Part A
Part B

Part A of form 16 contains the following detail:-

Name and address of the Employer
Name and address of the Employee
PAN of the Deductor
TAN of the Deductor
PAN of the Employee
Details of tax deposited with government

Part B: It contains the detail of salary and its break and deductions under section VI-A.

The last date to file TDS return is 15th June following the respective FY. So you can get Form 16 after the 15th of June each year.
