I have paid excise duty on purchase of capital goods and I have the credit still available with me.…

I have paid excise duty on purchase of capital goods and I have the credit still available with me. If I register under GST, can I use this credit to pay IGST?

No, the input tax credit of the excise paid under earlier laws will reflect as CGST ITC in your electronic credit ledger. You can not use it to pay IGST.
