I run a hotel. The tarrifs for the rooms per day is Rs. 400- 800 per day. My yearly turnover, however exceeds the prescribed limit of 20 lakhs. Do I need to get registered now, or after my turnover has crossed the limit?
Services by a hotel, inn, guest house, club or campsite, by whatever name called, for residential or lodging purposes, having Declared tariff of a unit of accommodation less than one thousand rupees per day or equivalent is exempt under GST. So, if you are providing only exempted service, GSTregistration is not required. However, if along with exempted service, you are providing taxable service also then registration is mandatory if turnover exceeds Rs. 20 lakhs.
Thanks,
