I want to sell my (used) car to a dealer of second hand vehicles for a sum of Rs. 28 lakhs. Am I considered a casual taxable person? Do I need to deposit tax on such sale?

Since the value of the goods supplied exceeds the prescribed turnover of 20 lakhs, the sale of car will be treated as supply under GST and accordingly registration is required.

However, if you are not engaged in any other supplies, then you can take registration as a casual taxable person. The registration of casual taxable person will be valid for the period of 90 days only.
