The unfortunate answer is no.
See, the way it works is that you can not 'only' take the benefit of deduction unless you take the liability of her income tax too. (Clubbing of Income)
If your wife's income were clubbed in your hands, you could also claim the deduction under 80C for the said ELSS.
But if there is no clubbing provisions applicable, you can not just take the deduction on her account.
