Best-paid MBA graduates

A new survey have ranked business schools around world according to total compensation received by their respective graduates.Emolument.com analysed pay data from 10,900 professionals holding an MBA degree to find out which business schools alumni receive highest pay.Coming up tops was The MIT Sloan School of Management,where median salary & bonus US$286,000 (S$377,000). US schools comprise rest of top 11,with Harvard Business School.

Results from a new survey have ranked business schools around the world according to the total compensation received by their respective graduates.

Emolument.com analysed pay data from 10,900 professionals holding an MBA degree to find out which business schools alumni receive the highest pay.

Coming up tops was The MIT Sloan School of Management, where the median salary and bonus was US$286,000 (S$377,000). US schools comprise the rest of the top 11, with Harvard Business School and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business taking up second and third place respectively.

France's INSEAD (S$244,000) was the highest-ranking non-US entrant at number 12, followed by University of St. Gallen in Switzerland (S$239,000), and Cambridge University's Judge Business School (S$237,000) in 13th and 14th places respectively.

"While MBA represent a substantial cost for professionals, their impact on one's earning potential and career is undeniable. All the data shown in these rankings stands way above what the average professional with an undergraduate degree can reasonably expect to earn during his career," said Thomas Drewry, Co-founder at Emolument.

"With an MBA also comes the less measurable but real benefit of being part of an exclusive network of high-achieving professionals, which comes in handy when looking for a top job or find the perfect co-founder for an ambitious start up," he added.

The survey also notes that "US business schools alumni also benefit from the pay premium that comes with working in the USA, where salaries and bonuses are traditionally higher than in Europe, particularly in the very competitive tech and financial services industries."
