Finding out the maximum fees your client will pay is an art and a science working together. It's an Art because you work on yourself internally perfecting yourself, engage client in the diagnosis, and science because you apply universally accepted principles.
Before you read, please remember "Value lies in the eyes of a beholder." Beholder here means your client. If you can guess that value in the client's eyes, then you can charge maximum fees.
If you can show your client the value addition and convince him(her) about your contribution, then you can charge premium fees and the client will pay it happily.
