This statement is not correct. This is because structures are designed to facilitate the strategic pursuit of a firm and, therefore, follows strategy. Without a strategy or reasons for being, it will be difficult to design an effective structure. Strategic developments may require allocation of resources and there may be a need for adapting the organization’s structure to handle new activities as well as training personnel and devising appropriate systems.
