Summer Break From 03 Jun 2019 to 28 Jun 2019

As an annual feature the Sales tax bar association takes summer break from 3 Jun 2019 to 28 Jun 2019. Officers generally don't issue ex-parte orders during this period. However, there are some exceptions to this. Officers use this time in weeding out files or clearing pending work or solving some other important matters.

The office of the Commissioner, Department of Trade and Taxes, have issued a circular (F No. 9(36)/L&J/Misc/2013-14/2207-10) on Jun 3 2019.


In the circular, the honorable office of commissioner has announced the summer break for Sales Tax Bar Association.


The summer break starts from Jun 3 2019 through Jun 28 2019.


How does this affect you?

  1. The officers of department won't pass any ex-parte order, if you (ie counsel/advocate) don't appear.
  2. However, if you (counsel/advocate) want to appear on your own motion or in response to some earlier fixation, then you may appear.


However, there are some exceptions:

If you have some case of

  • remand assessment or
  • registration or
  • time barring case or
  • time barring legal requirement

then please attend it unfailingly.


How do officers use this break time?

Officers (including Appellate authorities, Objection hearing authorities, ward authorities) use this time in

  • completing pending works
  • weeding out files and
  • finalising important matters.
